PAY WHAT YOU CAN
Curses and Remedies
A Teaching on Gossip, Rage, and Ritual
with Dr. Daniel Foor
Our Invitation
In this teaching and guided practice we’ll get real about ethics and sacred speech by considering traditional understandings of curses, prayer, and power. This will include exploring basic ways to bring remedy and positive change when you’ve experienced the ill-effects of a curse or have directed your speech and life force energy to harm others.
We’ll also discuss the ethics of venting, gossip, and explicit cursing of others under conditions of rage, self-defense, and injustice. Teachings will reference diverse religious and spiritual teachings and will be shared in kind, curious, non-judgmental ways.
Through the effects of kindness and of cruelty we each intimately know the power of the word. This includes the complicated truth that our ability to bless and heal can also be used to curse and harm others.
This session will also touch on themes we’ll explore much more deeply in our upcoming course, Prayers, Curses, Ritual Power which begins on December 5. This course focuses on learning to work with the underlying power behind both prayer and curses, exploring tangible remedies for more common types of curses, and aligning your speech and actions with your core values.
This event is pay-what-you-can. You may name your own price starting from $0. Or, you can contribute the recommended sum of $25, which enables us to provide regular, high-value, low-cost and free content.
We’ll explore topics like:
- How can you personally access your ethical compass when moved to tear others down?
- In what ways can we honor the potency of rage while still honoring our core values?
- What are curses and how are we impacted by spontaneous and deliberate cursing?
Our time will include:
- Edgy, practical teaching and conversation.
- A guided experiential practice.
- Live Q&A with Daniel.
Responsible use of our power to bless and heal includes recognizing our capacity to curse and destroy.
