On-Demand Course Library

Our library of on-demand courses includes a wide range of topics on ancestral reconnection, Earth-honoring spirituality, ritual arts, cultural healing, and pragmatic life skills.

All courses are guided by Dr. Daniel Foor and include pre-recorded lessons (both video and audio), a resources section, inclusion in the Ancestral Medicine community forum, life-long access to materials, a transcription of all lessons, and pricing options to support accessibility.

Animist Psychology

The field of psychology continues to grapple with colonialist legacies, reductionist approaches to the psyche, and disproportionate centering of European-ancestored voices. Sustained engagement with traditions of ritual and Earth-honoring practice can serve as a modest corrective to this tendency.

This course is an offering for mental health professionals, ritualists of diverse traditions, and anyone interested in the intersections of Earth, culture, and psyche. Lessons are pragmatic and accessible, and participants can expect to more easily identify and navigate the intersections of psychology, ritual arts, and cultural dynamics in your personal life and communities of practice.

Care for the Dead and Dying

Death is not a singular moment, but a rite of passage that unfolds over weeks, months, or even years. How well we show up with skillful care and presence – before, during, and after death – can make all the difference for our loved ones who are departing from this incarnation.

In this course we explore cross-cultural teachings and practices to support the dying process. You’ll learn tangible skills for offering soul-level support through the major transformation that is death of the body. The focus is complementary to Ancestral Lineage Healing and this is a great stand-alone, life-skills course for helpers, healers, and anyone wanting to better support the dying.

Initiations: A Life of Ritual

Most people on Earth are no longer raised with robust community rituals and rites of passage. This leads to uninitiated adults, not yet prepared to meet life’s ordeals in creative, empowered, and meaningful ways. In turn this becomes a generational disconnection that causes suffering and erosion of healthy community.

This foundational course provides guidance and practices to integrate the wisdom of religious/spiritual systems with teachings from developmental psychology, stages of consciousness models, and anti-oppressive approaches to cultural change.

Inhabiting the Times

This course is a call to activists, thinkers, and ritualists, offering an embodied exploration of six persistent global cultural troubles and the antidotes to each, inherent within: poverty, sexism, racism, war, religious intolerance, and human supremacy.

Discover pragmatic actions and antidotes through lessons that unravel the intersections of ritual, psychology, and complex systems. Step into a world where understanding fosters systemic change, where theory meets action, and where individuals become empowered agents for a more just, loving, and sustainable world.

Practices for Grieving and Heartache

Grief and loss are close companions on the spiritual path, an unavoidable part of our journey on Earth, and essential for the development of good character. Even though so much hinges on making friends with heartache, we often don’t receive these fundamental life skills from the prevailing culture.

This offering is for anyone who wishes to learn ways to embrace conscious grieving and living with an open heart (and folks working in helping and healing capacities may find the content especially useful). Participants are gently invited to honor places of personal and collective sorrow through gentle, inclusive and non-dogmatic teachings and ritual practice.

Prayer, Curses, and Ritual Power

The act of speaking carries intrinsic potency, but we’re rarely supported to understand our speech as holy and powerful.

To the contrary, many internalize self-critical and limiting stories to name, describe, and shape their world. In this course, we explore sacred speech and how to reclaim the power of words in our everyday lives, basic remedies for curses and gossip, and learn to recognize when the power of words are being misused.

Reclaim and enliven your prayers, learn about breaking curses, and find ways to neutralize negative magic through the power of words.

Possession, Addiction, and Belonging

We’ve all witnessed, if not experienced personally, states of possession—charismatic dictators and their followers, loved ones stuck in harmful patterns, or simply being flooded with a singular focus that defies all discernment and reason—it’s part of the human condition. But we don’t need to live there, and we don’t need to tolerate others who do.

Learn to recognize and more consciously navigate possession states in yourself and others. Our approach is free from shame and includes exploration of potentially helpful possession states like well-channeled collective rage, grieving as the Earth, and potent merging with Source.

Relating with Evil & Malice

The horrors of the world will find us, no matter what; through abusive people, oppressive systems, the hazardous side of the spirit world, or through those who channel hate.

Sometimes we ourselves become the horror from which we need to heal. Rather than avoid what is, we can seek to better understand evil and malice to equip ourselves to handle these forces. This course is for anyone who wishes to better understand, in safe and resourced ways, the more predatory and harmful spectrum of forces with whom we share the Earth and cosmos.

Spirit Contact for Beginners

Many of us never receive the support, guidance, and validation to enjoy nourishing relationships with our diversely bodied other-than-human kin – even though it’s something that most of our ancestors took for granted and one of the most ordinary and normal things we can do.

In this course we explore the art and practice of relating in safe and direct ways with ancestors, animals, plants, spirts of place, and those who are water, stone, wind and weather. Teachings are kind, inclusive, and focused on pragmatic skills for enjoying a lifetime of supportive relationships. This is a great intro course and likely helpful to those wanting to strengthen intuitive skills.

The Opening Earth

Our bodies and psyches are also the land; we are in no way separate from the rest of life. In this course we explore ways in which we are embedded in a wider community of kinship. This includes reckoning with how ecological catastrophe and centuries of cultural harm live and move through these bodies.

Lessons invite those impacted by the sorrows of our changing world to consider questions like: Who are we in these times? What skills do we need to meet this new reality? What are my specific responsibilities in service to life? This course, along with in-depth offerings like Loving the Earth: Practical Animism, are excellent starting points for those drawn to Earth-honoring values and traditions.

Foundations of Ritual

Ritual is both art and discipline, instinctual and learnable. As approaches to ritual are as diverse as life itself, this course is for anyone seeking to strengthen their foundational skills in ritual arts. The only “wrong” approaches are perhaps those untethered from love, wisdom and relationship with life.

Participants will learn pragmatic skills that can be applied to daily devotions and all manner of relationship (human and other-than-human). Beginners are welcome, and the content may be particularly useful to healing arts practitioners, priests, spiritual care workers, and devotees of diverse traditions in search of fresh ways to inhabit and transmit basic teachings.
