Our Invitation
At Ancestral Medicine, we are committed to anchoring deeply supportive devotional spaces during times of disruption to make room amidst the wasteland of destruction to honor grief so that it may begin to metabolize.
As we endure profound grief over loss of life, livelihood, home, community, loved ones, and planet, pausing for breath can seem impossible. But paradoxically, if we fail to do so, we may arrest our ability to recover.
To this end, and to support a greater sense of shared and collective resilience, we’re offering five free weekly gatherings to assist those impacted by recent catastrophic weather events especially along the southeastern U.S., including storms that have passed (Helene, Milton) and may yet still come.
Our time will include:
- Time to share story from the heart
- Guided practice to (re)connect with your own support
- Time to grieve and tend our hearts
- Prayer and Earth-connection
- Facilitated space to support those present
Coming into conscious relationship with our ancestors can transform difficult legacies and bring tremendous support for living our potential here on Earth.
— Daniel Foor
We’ll explore topics like:
- How can ancestral reconnection support physical, psychological, and cultural vitality?
- What’s different about this approach and other forms of therapy or ancestor work?
- In what ways can the ancestors support decolonization and Earth healing work?
We’ll gather at the Ikigai Espacio de Bienestar, a small privately owned meditation center at the foot of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in the city of La Zubia in the Province of Granada.
Our time will include:
- Kind, pragmatic teachings on ancestral healing
- A guided practice to gently acknowledge ancestral support
- A period of Q&A with Daniel on various aspects of ancestral healing
Our shared time is guided in ways that are psychologically grounded, ritually safe, and culturally inclusive. All teachings and practices are led by Daniel and a team of trained ritual supporters. Those new to ancestor work, adoptees, and folks with a tough experience of family and culture are warmly welcome.
