We human folk are embedded in a great tangle of relationships with the other-than-human people. Our survival as a species, not to mention our happiness and fulfillment, depends largely on how well we show up for these relationships. Currently many institutions and a whole lot of human people are living in destructive and unsustainable ways with the rest of life. For those reaching for older and returning earth-honoring wisdoms, the path of personal and cultural transformation is still fraught with challenge.

In this free, open-to-all teaching and discussion we’ll touch on both a framework for reconnecting with the others and also some of the practical challenges to living an animist, earth-honoring lifestyle. The focus will be relating with the locals (e.g., animals, plants, mountains, rivers, deities of place) in ways that are also respectful to human histories (e.g., colonialism in the Americas, existing sacred spaces). For folks drawn to animism, shamanism, indigenous wisdoms, paganism and the like, you’ll find the space to be culturally mindful and pragmatic. Time for Q&A and questions, challenges, disillusionment with spiritual systems, heartache, and confusion all welcome. This offering is also an introduction to the upcoming online course Animism and Earth Reconnection (starts April 15, 2018): ancestralmedicine.org/online-course-animism.

Talk will be recorded in the archive of past online teachings within a day of the event. To join from PC, Mac, Linux, iOS or Android: https://zoom.us/j/217263618
