Courage, Resistance, and Surrender
Living With Love in an Age of Collapse
SEPTEMBER 9
90 MINUTES
12pm LA | 3pm NYC | 21h Madrid
This event will be held live on Zoom, and will be recorded. A recording will be shared with all who register within 48 hours after the event.
About this event
The Sacred is vast, kind, and present in all things. And also, the world is full of unbearable suffering: ongoing colonialist horror in Gaza, civil war and genocide in Sudan, the return of authoritarian regimes across the globe. Supremacy and capitalism grind on, forcing displacement, ecological collapse, and making daily survival precarious for so many.
And also, we’re capable of serving as portals through which love and beauty can flow. Tenderness, joy, and the laughter of children resound on Earth. What helps us to stay open to the Sacred in service to life while facing the suffering of the world?
More about the event
-In this 90-minute teaching and guided practice, our three co-presenters will invite you to root more deeply into your spiritual path—while facing, with clarity and open-heartedness, the anguish and injustice in the world.
Alfonso Peralta will speak from the perspective of Indigenous Caribbean ancestral wisdom, grounded in the traditions of the Arawako Karibe people and in solidarity with Indigenous peoples of Abya Yala. Ashira Prem Rachana will share as a Palestinian now in exile who teaches Earth-based mysticism, somatics, and trauma healing while continuing to work for an end to the genocide and occupation of her ancestral homeland. Daniel Foor will share as a Euro-American settler to Turtle Island who has spent decades of immersion in ritual arts, ancestral healing, and Earth-honoring traditions, gradually carving out a sense of belonging and participation in work for cultural change.
Together, we’ll explore how the injustice of this world can serve as a catalyst for greater awakening—and how spiritual practice can support resilience, solidarity, and work for systemic change. We’ll speak to the role of service in cross-cultural teachings on the Sacred and the challenge of cultivating a world-shaped heart. Expect time for guided practice and questions.
*Please note: After covering production costs including fair compensation for our guests, 100% of proceeds will be split evenly, half to Ashira-recommended Project Hope for Palestine and half to Alfonso-recommended (Foundation Espoir and Taino Studies). If you’d prefer to contribute directly to these organizations, and register here at no cost, of course that’s welcome too.
